Almost everyone knows regular exercise is good for your heart. But here’s another reason to keep active: Exercise helps keep your kidneys healthy. These bean-shaped organs — each about the size of a fist and located near the middle of the back– process about 200 quarts of blood a day when healthy, sifting out about two quarts of waste products and extra water, which becomes urine.
